Conversation Clubs
During my time as a Fulbright ETA at Universidad de Cundinamarca in Girardot, Cundinamarca, Colombia, I am carrying out different conversations clubs.
CAFE Club aims to engage students in a dynamic, non-traditional learning environment, as well as give them tools to teach classes in English.
Activities that will be carried out:
Words games
(I'm going to _____ and I'm bringing _________, the students go around in a circle and they must say places and things that start with a letter of the alphabet in alphabetical order ex: I'm going to Alabama and I'm bringing bananas, next person I'm going to Cabo and I'm bringing deodorant, next person continues)
Heads up
All students write down two famous people on two cards and put in a bowl/bag. Students take turns putting the name on their forehead and rest of the group gives hints until the student guesses the person. This game can be made competitive by dividing into teams (every other person, boys/girls), as well as digitized via Charades! app.
